![]() The emblematic architecture and overall ambiance make the hotel stand out from the rest in the Art Deco District and possesses a magical touch. The Betsy Hotel is located on the iconic Ocean Drive in South Beach where toursits attractions and interesting things to do are at every corner. Well, it certainly is because I had the most pleasant experience while staying here. ![]() I decided to stay at this boutique hotel to see what the experience was like and if it was worth the hype. Initially, I expected the hotel to be newer but the hotel itself is actually very historic with an older, classic Miami feel. I’ve heard about The Betsy for quite some time now, having friends who live and travel in the area, and knew I had to visit this iconic hotel one day. Thank you so much to the Senses Riviera Maya staff for making this trip magical.Looking to stay at a prime art-centric hotel at the heart of South Beach, Miami? Look no further, because The Betsy Hotel might be the one for you. I’m still coming down off of the high of staying at this resort for a few nights and can’t wait to return. I was only able to make it once and I’m so glad I did. The hotel offers a daily shuttle further into Playa Del Carmen where you can lounge around on another beach, walk around, get spa pedicures, or literally eat the time away. While this hotel is technically in Playa Del Carmen, the action of the city can still be a ways away. If you have a few days there, eat through the menu and try a bit of everything, you won’t be disappointed. I spent more than one breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this restaurant when I wasn’t ordering room service or off he grounds having a meal elsewhere and I must say that everything was delicious. There’s beach access and most importantly, there’s the hotels restaurant, Cavamar. If you want to go downstairs you have several cabanas up for grabs – get yours early as people tend to claim their territory before dawn – the pool and an entire row of lounge chairs. If you find time to leave your room then I opt for spending it on the roof with jacuzzi’s, cabanas and a cocktail. Whether the sun was rising or it had already set, you could find me out there just relaxing or getting some sun. Lounge chairs, a fillable tub/pool, and a view of the infinity pool and ocean below was enough to take my breath away on a daily basis. My favorite part of my room, aside from the view, had to have been the balcony. The practical side of me appreciated the kitchenette area complete with a microwave because so many hotels fail to remember that you may go out to eat, have leftovers and want to warm it up. The huge waterfall shower, spacious bathroom, and closet were also a nice touch. ![]() ![]() I don’t know what I loved more, the king sized bed, the jacuzzi tub, or the living area where I took the time to lounge every now and then. Senses was actually able to top Vegas because not only are all accommodations complete with a balcony and ocean view, but they offer free yoga classes on the terrace every morning! Up until that point the only time I’d ever been in a hotel room that big was at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and I believe this was actually bigger. I remember walking into the room and thinking it was huge for no reason at all. The Senses Riviera Maya was by far the epitome of luxury in every sense. I think I just saw the real life equivalent and it was found at the Senses Riviera Maya by Artisan hotel in Mexico. I often find myself perusing Instagram and believe that through someones feed, I’ve discovered paradise.
